About

Welcome!

My name is Emily Cunningham and I’m glad you stopped by.  If you’d like to get in touch with me, you can follow me on Twitter or email me at, emilykcunningham [at] gmail [dot] com. You can also visit an archive of my Twitter feed here.

Currently, I’m pursuing a Master of Science in Information Management at University of Washington.  For many years I’ve read, and been transformed by the writings of others discussing the social impacts of digital technologies.  I started this blog as a way for me to find my own voice about the ideas I’m passionate about.  Namely, the ways digital technologies are radically enhancing our ability to communicate, share knowledge, collaborate and innovate thus transforming our cultures, power structures, world.  I dig thinking about the here and now. And I dig thinking about our collective future.  I’d love to hear and learn from you. Seriously. I would.

Me: catalyst, student, infovore, humanity lover, semi-geek

Interests: human rights, the open source movement, social media, privacy, ICT4D, crisis management, collective intelligence, transparency, data visualization, emerging technologies, and futurism.

[Note: The photo-header of this blog was originally taken on my iPhone as my sister and I drove from Globe, AZ to Phoenix, AZ. Nothing beats Arizona sunsets though Seattle summers come close.  I was born in Tucson and then raised in various cities and towns in southern Arizona including Globe, Phoenix, Tempe, Casa Grande and Tucson. Seattle has been my home since 1998. I love this city.]
